“Y’think we’ll see ‘em again?”

“Hm?”

“Y’know… The Doctor. And… and Sherlock.”

“Mm. Suppose. He always shows up again. Eventually. The Doctor, that is.”

“Right. Right. It’s just… Sherlock.”

“Yeah, I know mate. But if there was anyone not meant to be dead, it’s Sherlock.”

“That’s rich, coming from you.”

“Ha. Right.”

“Thanks though. Cheers.”

“Ta.”

“Sherlock. Sherlock, are you there,” Amy asked, her voice quivering. She could feel them coming closer, the cold stone body grating against the gravelly soil beneath her feet. It took a while before she heard a static over the intercom.

“Yes, Amy. I’m here,” said a calm, low voice.

“Sherlock, I’m scared.”

“Amy, you have to trust me. They’re not real. They’re a figment of your imagination. This is all a trick Moriarty is playing with your head. Do you hear me, Amy. They’re. Not. Real.”

Sherlock could hear the chocked sobs over the line. “I’m not under any drug influence, Sherlock. This is not a trick. They’re coming closer. Sherlock, please.”

Sherlock let out a sigh, shaking his head in defeat. “Alright. Stay where you are, Amy. I’m calling for back up.” He hung up and dialled the one person he swore never to ask help from.

“Hello, Doctor.”
